Abstract
Siemens Corporate Research (www.scr.siemens.com) provides tools, training and mentoring to the various Siemens operating divisions as well as conducting applied research on behalf of its clients. Medical Imaging, for example, provides the technology used for 3D imaging in Siemens medical products. In this presentation I will first briefly introduce SCR and discuss the Requirements Engineering Group and its charter. I will then provide an overview of our experiences working with many different Siemens Operating Companies to improve their requirements capture processes and the quality of their software based products. I will discuss some of my findings, and show how important the lifecycle processes are to the creation of high quality software products.
