College of Engineering students attend Grace Hopper Conference

Five College of Engineering students received scholarships to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing in San Diego, California, October 4 – 7, 2006. The leading conference for women in the field of computer science, the Grace Hopper Celebration provides a forum to inspire, educate, encourage, and create awareness of opportunities for women in the field of computing. 1290 women and men from the U.S. and 13 other countries attended.

MSU scholarship recipients included Asmaa Amr Abdel-Azim, Computer Science; Masters student Kayra Hopkins, Computer Science; Katie Simonds, Computer Science; Tania Yusaf, Computer Engineering; and Ke Zhang-Miske, Electrical Engineering.

Michigan State University was a silver academic scholarship underwriter for the 2006 Grace Hopper Celebration.
