Amin Jourabloo receives award
Amin Jourabloo was awarded First Place in the 2018-2019
Fitch Beach Outstanding Graduate Research Award competition. In this
competition, each of the eight departments within the College of Engineering at
Michigan State University nominates one candidate. The College of Engineering's
Graduate Studies committee then selects the winner based on both their
technical presentation and research record. Amin's former labmates, Dr. Joseph
Roth and Dr. Xi Yin, received the same award in 2015-2016, and 2017-2018,
respectively.
Amin received the M.Sc. degree from Sharif University of
Technology, Iran in 2012. Since 2014, he has been pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer
Science and Engineering under the guidance of Dr. Xiaoming Liu. Amin designs
advanced deep learning algorithms to solve challenging computer vision problems
including face model fitting and face anti-spoofing. At MSU, he has authored 11
scientific publications, the majority of which are published in top venues such
as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, International Journal of Computer Vision, and IEEE
Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics. His work has been cited
more than 500 times with an H-index of 11.
