Ross Discusses Face Recognition and Privacy with MarketWatch

Arun Ross, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, recently spoke to MarketWatch about face recognition technology and its impact on personal privacy. Ross’ comments highlighted the pros and cons of deploying face recognition technology in law enforcement as well as consumer applications. The interview can be accessed here.

Ross and his students have been conducting research on enhancing the privacy of biometric data thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation.
