CSE celebrates accomplishments of graduates
Sunday May 7 was a day of reflection and celebration for CSE’s spring 2006 graduating class. The department is honored that a record number of graduates and their family members started such a momentous day by attended this spring’s Graduation Breakfast. In remarks to the graduating class, PhD graduate Krerk Piromsopa characterized the department as a place where everyone feels at home. He thanked CSE faculty for going beyond problem-specific approaches to learning and helping students identify abilities within themselves. BS graduate Tom Wolf emphasized the sense of community in the Computer Science and Engineering Department. “Community doesn’t end when you graduate,” he said. “We need to stay connected and maintain the community we’ve built.” CSE alumnus Kevin Ohl of Crowe Chizek urged graduates to stay involved with their alma mater and addressed some of the critical issues they would face in their personal and professional lives. Kevin gave the spring graduating class the opportunity to choose where to direct his generous donation. This semester, graduates voted for the donation to be used at the department's discretion.
Crowe Chizek and Company has sponsored the bi-annual CSE Graduation Breakfast for nearly a decade. CSE is grateful to Crowe Chizek and Kevin Ohl for their valuable service and dedication to the department.
CSE is also grateful to Academic Advisor Teresa VanderSloot, who organized the event. Her hard work and enthusiasm made this spring’s Graduation Breakfast an unrivaled success.
Congratulations to our spring 2006 graduates! We look forward to hearing your success
stories and to welcoming you back to MSU when you choose to visit again.
