Liu receives research gift from AT&T Research on cellular networks

Alex X. Liu, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, has received a research gift from AT&T Research to support his research on automatic debugging of performance bugs in cellular networks. Nowadays mobile users using smartphones and cellular data services have a high expectation not only on the service availability but also on their application performance, i.e., the end-to-end (E2E) service performance. This project aims to detect and localize E2E performance degradation (such as slow webpage page loading and unsmooth video playing) in real time at cellular service providers.
