Chad Byers recognized for outstanding teaching by a graduate student

Chad Byers has served as a CSE 101 graduate teaching assistant since Fall 2013. From the beginning, Chad distinguished himself as one of the leaders among the CSE 101 team.

His classroom performance has been outstanding, although this is not a surprise based on his passion for teaching. His classroom demeanor, preparation, and organized teaching style are clearly top-notch. The feedback he has received from students is at an extremely high level. And his high numeric feedback is accompanied by narrative comments that strongly support his performance, including:

- "Chad is an exceptional Lead. He truly cares about the well-being of his students and wants his students to do well."

- "Honestly the best lead out there! He was always extremely helpful and accessible and was extremely knowledgeable compared to other leads in the help room. He is great at simplifying and relating computing concepts so that they can be easily understood."

- "I would not have wanted a different lead."

Chad has also been active in assisting the course management with improvements to the course materials as well as offering suggestions related to course structure. As is often the case when you offer suggestions, you get pulled in to help with them, and based on his interest in curriculum development, Chad took on an added responsibility of Head GA for the course for Spring 2014.
