Coburn and VanDam win honors at MICWIC 2013

Sarah Coburn and Courtland VanDam, PhD students in Computer Science and Engineering, won two of the three top honors at the 2013 Michigan Celebration of Women in Computing (MICWIC 2013). Sarah Coburn received a Distinguished Poster Award for "Passive Viewpoints in a Collaborative Virtual Environment" (with Lisa Rebenitsch and Charles Owen). Courtland VanDam received a Distinguished Paper Award for "A Supervised Topic Modeling Approach to Event Detection" (with Pang Ning Tan).
