Punch and VanderSloot host MSU High School Programming Competition
On Saturday, May 4th, Prof. Bill Punch and Academic Advisor Ms Teresa Isela VanderSloot of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University hosted MSU's first High School Programming Competition. Ten teams competed, which came from Kalamazoo Math and Science Center, Midland High School and Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor. Prof. Punch spent a significant amount of time developing the programming environment and problem sets for the contest. A coach of one of the teams remarked, "MSU hit it out of the park" as far as its organization and how smoothly everything went. It was a big success!
