Liu receives funding from the Michigan Sugar Company

Xiaoming Liu, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, has received funding from the Michigan Sugar Company for a project with Dr. Mitchell McGrath, who is a USDA Sugarbeet Geneticist and an adjunct professor at MSU Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. The proposal entitled "Image acquisition and processing for enhanced scoring of Cercospora leaf spot nursery" aims to develop an automatic rating system for the cercospora leaf spot disease of sugar beet by using the video captured from a small UAV flying over the field.
