Dillon receives funding to support 2012 Software Engineering Educators' Symposium

August 2012 - Laura Dillon, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, and Thorna Humphries, Associate Professor of Computer Science at Norfolk State University, received funding from the National Science Foundation and the ACM Special Interest Group in Software Engineering in support of the 2012 Software Engineering Educators' Symposium (SEES'12).

Collocated with the ACM Conference on Foundations of Software Engineering (FSE) in Triangle Park this November, SEES'12 will consist of two half-day tutorials covering approaches for teaching programming and software engineering to undergraduates. Some of the approaches are experimental while others have shown success in recruitment and retention of women and minority students. NSF funds will defray costs for faculty from minority serving institutions, community colleges, and teaching colleges and universities to attend SEES'12 and FSE'12.
