MSU Women in Computing holds Technology Workshop

MSU Women in Computing held a Technology Workshop for forty local area girls in 4th-8th grades on Saturday, March 24th . Fifteen student volunteers led sessions on creating webpages with HTML and CSS, as well as basic programming concepts using Scratch. The girls overwhelmingly rated the workshop as fun and informative!

This workshop has been offered twice a year for Girl Scouts for the last five years. A big thanks to all the student volunteers, to Teresa VanderSloot who facilitated the workshop, to Union Pacific who provided breakfast and lunch for the volunteers, and to Mr. and Mrs. Stephan Bates who provided ice cream for everyone. Thanks also to Dean Udpa and members of the COE Advisory Board who visited and encouraged the girls.
