Chai awarded ONR grant

Joyce Chai, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, has received a grant from Office of Naval Research for her project titled "Towards a Collaborative Model of Interpreting Imprecise Language Descriptions in Situated Dialogue".

This four-year project is funded under the ONR's Basic Research Challenges program. The objective of the proposal is to examine the use of vague language terms such as scalable adjectives and spatial expressions in situated human agent dialogue and to develop computational models to interpret and ground these vague terms based on collaborations between humans and agents.
