Jain's software serves as a Tattoo Detective

The December 2010 issue of Wired Magazine discusses Tattoo-ID, developed by Dr. Anil Jain, University Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University. The article discusses that Tattoo-ID quickly compares a suspect's tattoo captured by a low resolution camera with tens of thousands of tattoos from known criminals. The technology has been licensed by MorphoTrak, which will start testing it with state and local law enforcement this month.
