Girl Scout Workshop a Success
On Saturday, November 14, MSU Women in Computing put on their bi-annual Girl Scout's workshop. Twenty nine middle to high school age girl scouts participated and 10 volunteers helped teach the workshop (the highest turnout in the history of the workshop).Volunteers taught HTML and a visual programing tool called Alice in an effort to show younger women what they can do by staying in math and science. At the end of the workshop, many of the girls went home planning to learn more about HTML or to download Alice and continue programing.
Overall, the program was a great success.
