Weng named IEEE Fellow


Juyang (John) Weng, professor of computer science and engineering, has been named an IEEE Fellow for contributions to computer vision and pattern recognition.

Weng is co-founder of the Embodied Intelligence Laboratory, a member of the MSU Cognitive Science Program, and a member of the MSU Neuroscience program. His research interests lie in the intersection of the general fields of computer science and engineering, brain science, and cognitive science. He is the author or coauthor of over two hundred research articles and book chapters.

The grade of Fellow is one of the IEEE's most prestigious honors. It recognizes unusual distinction in the profession and an extraordinary record of accomplishments in an IEEE field. The accomplishments that are being honored shall have contributed importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science, and technology, bringing the realization of significant value to society.
