Jain, Nandakumar, and Ross receive Pattern Recognition award


Anil Jain, University Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, Karthik Nandakumar (PhD '08), and Arun Ross (MS '99, PhD '03) received a best paper award from the journal Pattern Recognition.

Award criteria included originality, presentation and exposition, and citations by other researchers. The journal editors announced winning papers in the December 2008 issue.

Jain, Nandakumar, and Ross won the award for their 2005 article "Score normalization in multimodal biometric systems" (Vol. 38, pp. 2270-2285).

Pattern Recognition is the official journal of the Pattern Recognition Society, an international organization for research workers in the pattern recognition field.
