Department celebrates 40 years
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering celebrated its 40th anniversary on Friday, October 3rd, 2008. By all accounts, the event was a great success. We were delighted to welcome 200 alumni, faculty, staff, students, and members of the IT community.
Event highlights included a keynote address by Kevin Ohl of Crowe Horwath, a panel discussion about CSE history and entrepreneurship in computer science, a special announcement about the CSE Horizon Fund, lab tours, student project and research displays, a student group showcase, senior design course projects, and refreshments.
The celebration was sponsored by Fremont Associates LLC, Michigan State University Libraries, Computing & Technology, and Continental Automotive Group.
We hope that you will continue to celebrate with us by visiting our photo gallery, contributing your memories to our online history archive, and joining our Facebook group.
If you are considering a gift to honor a CSE faculty member who has made a difference in your life, you can learn more about the CSE Horizon Endowed Fund by contacting the Engineering Development Office.
