Cornwell awarded Carl V. Page Memorial Graduate Fellowship
Paul Cornwell, a first-year CSE PhD student, has been awarded the Carl V. Page Memorial Graduate Fellowship. Cornwell earned his BA from Northern Michigan University with a double major in computer science and psychology and a minor in mathematics. The Carl V. Page Memorial Graduate Fellowship was established in 1997 in memory of Carl V. Page, professor and founding member of the computer science department at Michigan State University. Recipients are selected on the basis of a demonstrated interest in and aptitude for computer science studies.
The fellowship honors Carl V. Page ’s contributions as a pioneer in computer science and his role in building a strong CSE graduate program at MSU. Page served as the first graduate director and had a critical role in promoting the department ’s research mission.
